About the Department

The Department for Coordination of Scientific and Technical Programs and Projects is responsible for organizing, supporting, and monitoring the implementation of research and development (R&D) projects, as well as for developing and executing state and sectoral scientific and technical programs.
The main task of the department is to ensure effective interaction between the Center, its branches, and partners, promote innovation and commercialization of scientific developments, and enhance the competitiveness of products to meet international standards.

Main Areas of Activity

• Participation of the Center and its branches in competitions and tenders for the implementation of government contracts.
• Development of projects for budget-funded scientific and technical programs (STP).
• Formation and support of grant-funded, program-targeted, and commercialization projects, as well as other state and sectoral scientific and technical programs.
• Coordination of research activities among the scientific divisions, branches of the Center, and other co-executors of scientific and technical programs.
• Preparation of reporting materials on research program and project implementation for the State Scientific and Technical Expertise (SSTE).
• Support of patent and licensing activities.
• Cooperation with the Committee of Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan (preparation of justifications and conclusions for assessing the technological and innovative potential of subsoil user projects).
• Determining the relevance and priority of research in accordance with the development plans of the mining and metallurgical enterprises and modern requirements for product quality improvement to international standards.
• Development of main objectives and performance indicators for STP.
• Analysis of results obtained during STP implementation and adjustment of work plans.
• Preparation of proposals for determining the areas of application of research results.
