A quarter of a century – strengthening the interaction of science and industry

Today, in Almaty, on the basis of the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials, the mining and metallurgical section "Modern technologies and problems of exploration, development and processing of the subsoil of the Republic of Kazakhstan", held within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Sustainable Scientific and Technological Development: trends and technologies", began its work. It brought together geologists, miners, enrichers representing the republic's subsurface users, research institutes, consulting and engineering companies working in this area. The occasion of this international conference was the 25th anniversary of the National Academy of Engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was opened by the co-chairman of the organizing committee, Bitimbayev Marat Zhakupovich. Nurabayev Bazarbai Kanaevich, Chairman of the Committee of Geology and Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made a welcome speech and the first report at the geological session. His report briefly, clearly and voluminously presented the situation that has developed over the past five years in the mining and geological sector. These are materials informing about the state of the mineral resource base of the republic, topical issues related to investment activities in the industry, with the increase in reserves for priority types of solid minerals and hydrocarbons, as well as other topical factors and facets accompanying mining and geological research. In addition, Bazarbai Kanaevich focused on the organization and work of the National Public Reporting Organization (NOPO), the KAZRC Association and the NGO PONEN. Next, he reviewed the priority areas for the development of the geological industry.

The facts, directions and activities of the National Geological Exploration Company Kazgeologiya were presented in the report of Khamzin Berikbol Serikbayevich. He noted that Kazgeologiya, for a fairly short period of activity, since its foundation, has carried out and is doing a lot of work on the state geological study of the subsurface, on attracting investments in geological exploration in the country, as well as on the introduction of specialized innovative technologies. The professionals were presented with interesting and remarkable results of field geophysical studies conducted and conducted in Central Kazakhstan, on Kireysko-Oparskaya Square, Dyusembay site.

Then there were reports and speeches in which experts and luminaries of the industry offered their vision and solutions related to the mining and geological orientation of the industry.
