A Kazakh delegation led by Zamir Saginov, Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, which includes representatives of major Kazakhstani mining companies, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, research institutes, and the Iteca exhibition company, is taking part in the XXIV World Mining Congress in Rio de Janeiro.
The event, which opened on October 18, is attended by more than 2,000 delegates from 34 countries, including government members, scientists, employees of international specialized organizations, heads of mining enterprises, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Brazil.The program of the miners' congress includes a meeting of the international organizing committee, a plenary session of the congress, an exhibition of the latest achievements of the mining industry, a competition of scientific and technical works and projects. The participants will consider topical issues of mineral exploration, mining and underground operations, automation and the use of robotics, and mining industry innovations.
On the first day of the congress, the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced at the plenary session the main directions and prospects for the development of the Kazakh mining industry, informed the members of the international organizing committee about the work carried out in Kazakhstan to prepare the XXV World Mining Congress.
JSC "National Agency for Export and Investment "KAZNEX INVEST" presented at the exhibition a national stand dedicated to the mining and metallurgical complex, investment policy, export potential of our country, as well as the EXPO-2017 exhibition.
On October 21, following the results of the congress, a ceremony is planned to transfer the "oil lamp" to the Kazakh side, a symbol of the right to host the next congress, which will be held in Astana on June 19-22, 2018.
