Kazakhstani scientists have developed an effective technology for processing polymetallic ore

13.02.2025

The new technique allows the extraction of gold, silver, lead and zinc without the use of harmful reagents.

Scientists of the Branch of the RSE "National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan" GNPOPE "Kazmehanobr" have developed an innovative technology for processing polymetallic ore from the Chinasyl-Sai deposit.El.kz with reference to the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main difficulty of working with such ores is their complex composition. In particular, the Chinasyl-Sai deposit contains gold, silver, lead, zinc and pyrite. The scientists were faced with the task of extracting useful components as efficiently as possible at minimal cost.

One of the key achievements was the elimination of the use of cyanide reagents, which makes the recycling process safer and more environmentally friendly. The researchers have developed a gravity-flotation technology that allows ore to be enriched without additional grinding of the industrial product.

The developed technology allows to obtain three types of concentrates:

  • gravity concentrate enriched with gold and silver;
  • lead flotation concentrate;
  • zinc flotation concentrate.

All these products meet the requirements for further production of valuable metals. Moreover, the technology is suitable for processing ores of a similar type from other deposits, which opens up new opportunities for the development of the mining industry in Kazakhstan.
