ALMATY. June 15th. KAZINFORM. The National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NC KPMS) and the South Korean company Posco signed a memorandum of cooperation in Pavlodar.
As Kazinform has already reported, the first industrial furnace for smelting ferrosilicon aluminum, which is patented as a "Kazakhstani alloy", has been commissioned at the Pavlodar plant of KSP Steel LLP. Well-known foreign metallurgical companies have shown interest in the technology of obtaining a new material that significantly improves the quality of steel.
"We have signed a memorandum with Posco," said Abdurasul Zharmenov, Director General of NC KPMS, Academician. - The company will build the first ferrosilicon aluminum production plant using our Kazakh technology with a capacity of 200 thousand tons per year in Kyrgyzstan. The second enterprise is planned to be built with our participation in Brazil.
Posco is a large company with an annual turnover of $80 billion. We will work not only on our new alloy, but also on other innovative areas."
