On September 26, Almaty will host the International Conference "Mining and Metallurgical Complex on the threshold of the Third Industrial Revolution", dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the RSE "National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
The National Center provides a systematic solution to problems in the field of geological exploration, extraction and processing of mineral and man-made raw materials in order to modernize existing and create new enterprises.Scientists at the National Center have developed and patented 1,216 unique projects. One of the unprecedented examples is the creation of the Kazakhstansky alloy (an alloy of iron, silicon and aluminum with additives of calcium, barium and alloying elements - vanadium, titanium). The main purpose of the alloy is deoxidation, modification and alloying of steel, which in practice reduces visible hot cracks and improves the structure and quality of the processed steel.
The patent for the Kazakhstansky alloy has passed industrial tests in South Korea, Russia, Turkey, Japan, Brazil and Germany.
The conference will discuss topical issues in the development of mineral resources and mining and metallurgical complexes in the following areas: achievements and technologies in geology and mining, modern approaches to the enrichment of poor, off-balance sheet raw materials, environmental aspects of environmental management, new technologies for metallurgical processing of mineral and man-made raw materials.
The Conference will be attended by representatives of government agencies - Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akimat of Almaty, institutes and development banks - KIRI JSC, Science Foundation JSC, EDB, as well as large foreign and domestic partner companies of the Center from Germany, South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan and other countries.
