The National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan has signed a mutual cooperation agreement with the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University. The purpose of the memorandum is to carry out joint research activities in areas of mutual interest, as well as cooperation in the field of training highly qualified personnel.
In his opening remarks, Abdrasul Zharmenov, Director General of the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that one of the priorities in the framework of measures to reform science as an industry at the state level is to improve the quality of scientific personnel training, as young scientists are the driving force behind the development of science and constitute the human resource potential of the innovative economy. The results of their work depend on the ability to conduct research, formulate results, and clearly understand the practical significance of their work. Higher education training plays a huge role in the formation of these characteristics, which is a multicomponent process. Currently, the university has 2 research institutes, including 7 research centers, 15 scientific laboratories, interdepartmental scientific complexes, a pilot production complex, a technological business incubator, an office for the commercialization of scientific developments, a department of new technologies, an analytical research center, a center for entrepreneurship and partnership, as well as a design- design bureau. In addition, the university has a regional engineering testing laboratory "Structural and biochemical materials" and a Testing center "Sapa".
The annual amount of funding for scientific research at the university under various programs is more than 1 billion tenge. The university publishes three scientific journals, which are included in the RSCI database. (International scientific journal in English "IndustrialTechnologyandEngineering"; scientific journal "Scientific proceedings of the SKSU named after M.Auezov"; scientific journal "Bulletin of Science of South Kazakhstan").
In turn, cooperation between the university and the scientific center will strengthen education in the field of science and technology, and also contribute to the development of research potential. High potential in science, technology, and engineering is needed by countries in order to meet challenges on the path to sustainable development, including in areas such as health, agriculture, communications, energy, and industrial and infrastructure development.
