One of the main priorities of the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan is to focus on the needs and demands of industrialists. The leading position in this area is rightfully occupied by the Astana branch, specializing in the creation of high-temperature materials. The result of the scientific research work of scientists and specialists of this enterprise is inconceivable without its logical conclusion – its introduction into production.
At one time, the Astana branch managed to win the competition of the Science Foundation JSC and receive a grant for the commercialization of scientific results. The project resulted in the development and production of a pilot batch of a new composition of refractory material for use in blast furnace production. The company "Beck u.Kaltheuner" LLP, with the participation of employees of the Astana branch and their author's control over compliance with the lining technology, installed the lining of the working layer of the main chute of the DP2 blast furnace using a specially developed refractory material. The chute is ready for operation.
Scientists have no doubt about the success. Responsible approach to work and ensuring high quality of refractories were the key to many years of fruitful cooperation with leading metallurgical enterprises of Kazakhstan: JSC "Qarmet" (Temirtau); Zhezkazgan Copper Smelting plant Kazakhmys Smelting LLP (Zhezkazgan); Kazzink LLP (Ust-Kamenogorsk).
