In the field of mining
Topic: Ensuring industrial safety at mining enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The delegation of the Branch of the Republican State Enterprise under the right of economic management "National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan" D.A. Kunaev Institute of Mining (hereinafter – IGD named after D.A. Kunaev) participated in the Strategic Session of AMM-2025. The session was devoted to solving a topical issue - ensuring industrial safety at mining enterprises. It was organized by the Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises (AGMP) and brought together leading industry organizations on its site.
The scientists of the Institute acted as the key speakers of the session. They presented modern approaches and technologies to solve the most pressing problems in the field of industrial safety. Thus, the Institute's program for the transition from open-pit mining to underground mining was demonstrated. It aims to reduce risks, increase resilience, and comply with international ESG principles. The "Anti-hit" system was shown. It ensures the prevention of collisions between vehicles and personnel due to the integration of sensors and intelligent analysis of motion trajectories. In addition, a staff training system and digital solutions in the field of occupational safety were presented. It allows for on-the-job training and covers the topics of occupational safety, industrial safety and emergency response. The training is available via mobile devices and a special application.
The presentations aroused great interest from representatives of the industrial sector.
One of the priorities was the formation of new strategic partnerships. Within the framework of the AMM, the Institute's delegation held a number of meaningful bilateral meetings with representatives of leading mining companies. The dialogue focuses on the prospects for cooperation: from the implementation of joint applied research and specialized educational programs to the organization of field training modules with visits to key production facilities and the Institute.
These initiatives open up new horizons for the integration of science and industry. They are aimed at creating advanced solutions and training highly qualified personnel of the future in the name of technological sovereignty and sustainable development of the country.
