The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded the laureates of the 2015 State Prize in Science and technology

39 people received the al-Farabi State Prize in Science and Technology.

Nursultan Nazarbayev presented well-deserved awards to six research teams and the head of one author's project. This year, 26 scientific papers participated in the competition, but only 7 projects were among the best.

The string quartet in the winter garden welcomed the heroes of today. The decree on awarding scientists has already been signed and published. However, they have only become de facto winners of the state Prize today. Some of them felt uncomfortable in the Marble Hall of the Presidential Residence. Worried. Others, on the contrary, even in this setting, seem to have continued a scholarly debate about the fundamental... Their works were selected from 26 scientific papers.

- Behind every achievement there is painstaking work, tireless search, and research talent. And our commission has done a lot to select these particular works among many others. Even they are controversial. Of course, these may not be achievements that will advance the whole science industry, but for Kazakhstan it is an achievement, it is the beginning. Many times more scientific articles from our country have been published in world journals than before. This means that we are giving a big boost and setting an example for young scientists in which direction to work.

39 people presented 7 scientific projects. Moreover, only one of them is copyrighted, and the remaining 6 are collective. Scientists in the fields of physics and cosmonautics, surgery, ichthyology and even metallurgy have received the status of the state Prize laureate today. Our scientists have something to be proud of. Some Kazakhstani technologies are already being used all over the world.

Lyudmila Bolotova, Head of the laboratory of the branch of the RSE "National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan":

- Every third ton of gold in Kazakhstan, every 10th ton of primary lead in the world is produced using technologies developed by us. Coming from the mining and metallurgical industry, you are the one who understands the importance of our developments in obtaining lead and gold from hard-to-enrich raw materials better than others. Nursultan Abishevich, I will keep the warmth of your hands in my heart.

Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

- Our bowels are very rich. The time will come, and we will develop all this. I know, it was my doctoral thesis in Moscow during the Soviet era. Hundreds of millions of tons of iron, vanadium, and tungsten lie in the dumps of the Sokolovsko-Sarbayevsky combine alone. And there is alumina in the dumps of Ekibastuz, which we will extract later. You are doing a very big job. Congratulations to you.

By the way, scientists have been thinking about how to turn waste into income for years. They studied the President's doctoral thesis carefully. And the result was not long in coming. Kazakhstan's innovators have already learned how to create a new type of alloy from the millions of tons of ash dumps accumulated in coal deposits. According to them, it has no analogues in the world.

Abdurasul Zharmenov, Professor, Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

- According to our President's idea, we have created a new alloy. We will launch a factory for its production by the end of the year. The raw materials for this production are the dumps of coal deposits. The unique alloy has been tested today in almost all countries of the world: Japan, Korea, Germany. And all of them are waiting for the launch of factories today to use our alloy. Contracts have already been signed.

The applied significance of all these developments has been discussed more than once. Behind each such project lies not only innovations in production, but also saved lives of people. A group of Russian doctors also received well-deserved awards today. The so-called "Batpenov prosthesis" has already given thousands of Kazakhstanis the opportunity to live a full life.

Kuanysh Ospanov, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics:

- The use of KazNIITO endoprostheses has allowed us to obtain excellent results in our patients who suffer from severe hip joint diseases. All this will inspire our team to pursue new scientific pursuits, because science does not stand still. We will continue to work.

Today's state Prize winners are also thinking about how to feed Kazakhstanis. For example, in Uralsk, innovators have developed a unique technology for the production of black caviar. Businessmen also joined the initiative of scientists. The construction of the whole plant has already been completed. They plan to produce up to 10 tons of the delicacy per year. The authors have been waiting for this result for 10 years. As they themselves admit, the most important thing is to believe in your work.

Nurlan Sergaliev, Rector of Zhangir Khan State Technical University:

- You must always believe. If you like what you do, then the result will be. Today is a very exciting day. It is worth a lot to receive such a high award from the President.

Everyone was worried today. Even those for whom the meeting at such a high level is far from the first.

And as if feeling this tension, even during the award ceremony, the Head of State managed to communicate with the laureates and encourage everyone. According to the President, all the results of our scientists' work are important. Even if they are not always clear to ordinary Kazakhstanis.

- This year we have already sent our third cosmonaut into space. What they are doing in space is not yet clear to humans. They awarded the title to everyone. Any award will encourage young people to achieve the same success as you. Happy holidays to you, I wish you good health.

And today, scientists came out of Akorda not only with medals and new titles. They also received the monetary component of the state prize. This year it is an amount of 18 million 600 thousand tenge.
