The economic diversification of the Kyzylorda region focuses on the development of the mining and metallurgical complex, the correspondent reports BNews.kz .

"In his Address to the people of Kazakhstan, "Kazakhstan in a new global reality: growth, reforms, development," Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the need to create a favorable environment for attracting investment," said Deputy Akim of the Kyzylorda region Galym Amreyev. - And in this regard, purposeful work is underway in the Aral Sea region. As part of the implementation of the first five-year plan of industrialization, 17 projects worth about 82 billion tenge were implemented, over 1,000 jobs were created. As part of the second five-year plan of industrialization, 41 projects worth 466.9 billion tenge are being implemented with the creation of about 6 thousand jobs. Of these, 39 projects are being implemented within the framework of the regional industrialization map."

In particular, according to the regional department of industrial and innovative development, in 2015, 5 projects worth 2.3 billion tenge were implemented in the Kyzylorda region, which allowed employing over 250 people.

In accordance with the strategic priorities of the region's development, work continues on the creation of a mining and metallurgical complex. Special accents are made here.

According to the akimat of the region, in 2014, together with JSC NWF NC Samruk-Kazyna, the registration of title documents was completed and the process of resuscitation of the Shalkiya lead-zinc deposit began. In 2015, restoration work at the field was completed. Construction of the mining and processing plant is scheduled to begin in the spring of this year.

The products of the mining and processing plant, widely used in the metallurgical industry, are planned to be processed by the hydrometallurgical method, to produce zinc metal and lead cake containing lead, copper, silver and rare metals. For this purpose, a hydrometallurgical plant will be built next to the GOK, and the development of its feasibility study has already begun. What is important: this project was included in the republican industrialization map in 2015 and will receive full support.

An agreement has been reached with the German company ICMD on the construction of a ferroalloy plant in the city of Kyzylorda for the production of special and complex alloys. The company will produce up to 160,000 tons of low-aluminum ferrosilicon per year. This component is in high demand as an alloying agent in the metallurgical industry. The plant will operate using innovative technology developed by Kazakhstani scientists of the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials under the leadership of Academician Zharmenov. A feasibility study on the project has been developed, a land plot has been allocated for the future enterprise in the industrial zone of Kyzylorda, and the necessary infrastructure has been completed.

Work continues on the development of the Bala-Sauskandyk vanadium deposit, where the pilot development stage has almost been completed and preparations are underway to begin construction of an ore processing plant. Along with this, work is underway to implement a project for the construction of a cement grouting plant in the Shieli village of Shieli district. As a result, a major project will be launched in the spring of this year jointly with Chinese partners.
