On October 14, 2020, representatives of the NC KPMS of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with the leadership and scientists of one of the country's major educational institutions, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, in Shymkent to establish partnerships in the field of scientific research and commercialization of scientific activities.
South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov was founded in 1943. To organize the educational process, the university has at its disposal 16 academic buildings (including 3 sports complexes), 5 student dormitories, 1 dormitory for university teachers and staff, a rural training center and a training ground. Staff training at the university is conducted in 135 bachelor's degree programs, 143 master's degree programs, and 19 doctoral programs. Currently, more than 26,000 students study at the university. The share of students enrolled in educational grants is 28.5%. The number of undergraduates is 831, PhD students – 130. The number of international students was over 7,000. Currently, the university has 3,661 employees, including 1,636 teachers, including 117 doctors of sciences, 527 candidates of Sciences and 53 PhD doctors, 13 academicians and 13 corresponding members of various academies. The university has 2 research institutes, including 7 research centers, 15 scientific laboratories, interdepartmental scientific complexes, a pilot production complex, a technological business incubator, a commercialization office for scientific research, a department of new technologies, an analytical research center, a center for entrepreneurship and partnership, and a design bureau. The university has a regional engineering testing laboratory "Structural and biochemical materials" and a Testing center "Sapa". The annual amount of funding for scientific research at the university under various programs is more than 1 billion tenge. The university publishes three scientific journals, which are included in the RSCI database: the International Scientific Journal in English "Industrial Technology and Engineering"; the scientific journal "Scientific Proceedings of the SKSU named after M. Auezov"; the scientific journal "Bulletin of Science of Southern Kazakhstan".During the meeting, an agreement on mutual cooperation was signed, it was signed by Rector, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Daria Perneshovna Kozhamzharova from the South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov, and Director General, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, twice from the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academician Abdrasul Aldashevich Zharmenov.
The purpose of the memorandum is to carry out joint research activities in areas of mutual interest, as well as mutual cooperation in the field of training highly qualified personnel.
