A unique technology for the production of silicon-carbon composite materials has been developed in Kazakhstan. Its peculiarity is that rice husk serves as a raw material for the production of complex and necessary substances in industry and agriculture. Moreover, a group of specialists led by Professor Suarnikov worked in this way, 24KZ reports.
Currently, the world's first company for the production of Kremenchug milk from rice is concentrated in Kazakhstan. The project was supported by the Science Foundation. Professor Sukharnikov has spent more than 40 years developing the technology. Under his leadership, the Silicon carbon composites laboratory built an experimental rice husk processing plant. The scientific foundations of the created technology are reflected in the doctoral thesis of Svetlana Yefremova, now a professor, chief scientific secretary of the center. The Kazakhstan Science Foundation has included the project in the commercialization program. This provided an opportunity to create a production facility. The draughtsman makes up 20% of the mass of rice produced. The most important elements of the raw materials are carbon and silicon. Using the advantages of this material, Kazakhstani specialists have developed a method for its processing. The final product is a silicon carbon nanocomposite, which can be used in various industries. This includes, in particular, the production of rubber products, silicon ferroalloys, precious and rare metals. The product is also used in agriculture, as a food additive for birds and animals. Domestic production will produce 1,500 tons of silicon-carbon product per year. Kazakhstan's demand for such materials is about 20,000 tons. In the near future, it is planned to use rice production waste in the Kyzylorda region as raw materials. According to experts, his work is important in order to close access to the local market in silicon-carbon materials. The launch of the production was attended by Chairman of the Committee of Industry Azamat Panbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Science Foundation Sultanbek Aimakov and foreign guests.
