A seminar on innovative grants was held in Almaty

In connection with the approval of new rules for the provision of innovative grants, the management of the RSE "National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan", a leading organization in the market of scientific and technical services in the mining and metallurgical complex, including the development, implementation, transfer of advanced technologies and the creation of innovative industries, organized a meeting on September 14, 2012 in Almaty with subordinate research institutes and mining and metallurgical enterprises:

  • D.A. Kunaev Institute of Mining, Almaty

  • Kazmehanobr State Scientific and Production Association of Industrial Ecology, Almaty

  • Eastern Scientific Research Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Non-ferrous Metals, Ust-Kamenogorsk
  • Chemical and Metallurgical Institute named after J.N. Abishev, Karaganda

  • Kazchermermavtomatika JSC, Karaganda

Tolegen Daurengalievich Syzdykov, Deputy General Director of the RSE "National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan", opened the meeting with a welcoming speech. Gulnara Kabdeshevna Esengazina, Managing Director and Director of the Center for Work with Innovators and Regions of the Agency, took part in the meeting on behalf of the National Institute for Development in the Field of Technological Development - JSC National Agency for Technological Development (hereinafter referred to as the Agency). She explained in detail about the new mechanisms for the implementation of innovative grants within the framework of:

1. The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 9, 2012 No. 534-IV "On State support for industrial and innovative activities".

2. Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 18, 2012 No. 800 "On the identification of priority areas for the provision of innovative grants".

3. Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 9, 2012 No. 1035 "On approval of the Rules for granting Innovative Grants for advanced Training of engineering and technical personnel abroad, attracting highly qualified foreign specialists, attracting consulting, design and engineering organizations, for the introduction of management and production technologies."

4. Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 9, 2012 No. 1036 "On approval of the Rules for granting Innovative Grants for Technology Acquisition, industrial research, support for the production of high-tech products at the initial stage of development, patenting in foreign countries and (or) regional patent organizations."

5. Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 9, 2012 No. 1037 "On approval of the Rules for granting Innovative Grants for Technology Commercialization".

At the end of the presentation speech, Yesengazina G.K. answered the questions of the audience. The grant for technology commercialization aroused great interest in the scientific community. Representatives of the scientific community were satisfied with the results of the meeting, and emphasized the fundamental improvement of the mechanism for providing innovative grants.

JSC "National Agency for Technological Development" was established with one hundred percent participation of the state in the authorized capital. The Agency was established to assist in ensuring the coordination of innovative development processes and the provision of government support measures.
