In Karaganda, 90 hectares of land were allocated for the construction of a plant for the production of "Kazakhstani alloy", a BNews correspondent reported.kz today, the President of ICMD Holding GmbH, Hein Jurgen, announced at the international conference on mining and metallurgical complex in Almaty.

According to him, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has provided tremendous support for this project. The holding has already received a coal deposit as a raw material base for the alloy.

"In Karaganda, according to the schedule, we should have already been built in 2013, due to the delay in the transfer of the field, we have shifted the schedule. This year we want to start land construction work in order to enter the winter with the work that has begun. The main work will begin at the beginning of next year," said H.Jurgen.

He also noted that at the end of this year ICMD Holding GmbH will sign an agreement with the Japanese concern HANWA as a strategic investor.

"They are ready to invest about $50 million in a project for a plant in Karaganda. The concern is currently receiving our alloy for testing at factories in order to determine its potential and consumption volumes," concluded H.Jurgen.

In total, about 185 million dollars will be invested in the construction of the plant in Karaganda. Production is scheduled to start in mid-2016.
