The production of a unique alloy was launched in Pavlodar. According to experts, this is an innovative material that appears no more than once a century.
It's about ferrosilicoaluminium. It took almost 30 years to develop it. The production of the new alloy almost immediately aroused great interest among foreign investors.
Ferrosilicoaluminium is the result of 30 years of work by the leading minds of the republic. A solemn ceremony of launching a furnace for the production of this alloy was held in Pavlodar. The production being launched is unique. It will improve the quality of ferrous metallurgy products.
Yerlan ARYN, Akim of Pavlodar region:
- Kazakhstan is starting to put forward its own technologies and implement them. I am very glad that this happened in Pavlodar. The first 9 megawatt furnace has been launched today. We will launch two more 24-megawatt furnaces by the end of the year. Total - 30 thousand tons of ferrosilicon aluminum production.
Only coal waste is needed for the production of ferrosilicon aluminum, and there is an abundance of it in the Pavlodar region. One of the authors of the new alloy is academician Abdurasul Zharmenov. He talked about the unique properties of the development.
Abdurasul ZHARMENOV, Director of the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
- There are not many new materials being born today. If new materials are born, then these are unique materials that need 100 tons, 1000 tons, well, maybe 50 thousand tons. But this alloy has appeared, and the demand for it exceeds several million tons. According to our colleagues, such material appears once in a century.
The launch ceremony of the ferrosilicon aluminum furnace was attended by representatives of South Korea, as well as specialists from Germany and Switzerland, and heads of major foreign scientific centers. After that, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Kazakh and South Korean sides.
