VNIITSVETMET strengthens scientific cooperation with Georgia's largest mining company

05.12.2025

In recent years, the branch of NC KPMS RK Institute "Vniitsvetmet" has been actively cooperating with the leading mining and metallurgical company of Georgia — RMG Group in a wide range of processing areas of copper, gold-bearing and polymetallic ores.

Since 2014, Kazakhstani specialists have completed a number of major research and pilot projects.:

A technology has been developed for heap leaching of oxidized copper-containing ores from the Sakdrisskoye deposit to produce cathode copper; a complex of studies of low-sulfide gold and copper-bearing ores from the deposits of the Madneuli group was carried out with the development of heap leaching technology and the release of Dore alloy, as well as technological regulations for design; Work has been carried out to improve the enrichment schemes and develop cyanide-free selective technology for lead-zinc ores of the Bektakar deposit, which makes it possible to obtain conditioned lead and zinc concentrates.; Studies have been conducted on the flotation enrichment of lead-zinc ores from the Kazreti deposit according to various schemes in order to obtain conditioned concentrates. Special attention is paid to the scientific and technical support of the Madneuli Processing Plant: studies on gravity enrichment of copper ore flotation tailings have been performed, the effect of recycled water during dry tailings storage has been assessed, and a scheme and reagent regime for processing new copper-containing ore from the Dumbludi deposit has been developed.
