About the Institute
Full name of the branch:
Branch of the RSE on REM “National Center for Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan” of the Committee of Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Chemical and Metallurgical Institute named after Zh. Abishev”.
The branch is a structural subdivision of the RSE “NCCPMR RK”, carrying out scientific and technical activities in the field of the mining and metallurgical complex.
History
- 1958 — established by Resolution No. 843 of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR to provide scientific support to the metallurgical and chemical industries of Central Kazakhstan.
- 1993 — included in the National Center for Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan by Resolution No. 642 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- 2012 — reorganized as a branch of the RSE “NCCPMR RK” by Government Resolution No. 315 and Order No. 61 of the RSE “NCCPMR RK” dated August 23, 2012.
Mission and Goals of the Branch
Addressing current challenges of Kazakhstan's mining and metallurgical industry through the development and implementation of new technologies, improvement of existing processes, and scientific and technical support for enterprises.
Main Areas of Activity
Scientific and technological research in the field of beneficiation of ferrous and non-ferrous metal ores;
Development of technologies for processing mineral and technogenic raw materials;
Research on the utilization and processing of metallurgical production waste;
Development of standards, technical specifications, and recommendations for the mining and metallurgical and chemical industries;
Scientific and technological support of production and author supervision.

- Технологии переработки слабококсующихся углей для производства бездымного топлива и ферросплавов;
- Технология выплавки рафинированного феррохрома с использованием нового восстановителя – алюмосиликохрома;
- Производство рафинированных сортов ферромарганца (электропечи мощностью 100–630 кВА, индукционная печь 400 кВА);
- Технология производства хромитовых окатышей с использованием базальтовых пород (АО «ССГПО»);
- Новые огнеупорные материалы для металлургических печей (опытно-промышленная проверка).
