The staff includes 12 employees: 1 Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Academician; 1 Candidate of Chemical Sciences; 1 Candidate of Technical Sciences; 1 Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences; 1 PhD; 3 Doctoral students, and 1 Master’s degree holder.

Research Profile

The laboratory conducts fundamental, exploratory, and applied research in the field of mineral and technogenic raw material processing, develops and implements innovative technologies, and carries out pilot-industrial testing. Special attention is given to improving the efficiency of extracting rare, non-ferrous, and precious metals, as well as recycling industrial waste.


Scientific Directions

Pyro-, hydro-, and electrometallurgical processing of mineral and technogenic raw materials (Re, Os, V, Sb, Ba, Zn, Ti).
Development of technologies for extraction and purification of rare metals.
Creation of materials with specified properties for industry.

Development of raw material processing technologies tailored to the customer’s specific needs.
Comprehensive physicochemical analysis of metals and compounds (Mo, W, Re, Os, Sb, Pb, Zn, Fe, Hg, Cu, SiO₂, CaO, Mg, etc.).
Technology testing under laboratory and pilot-industrial conditions.
Preparation of reports and implementation recommendations.

Technology for extraction of rhenium and osmium from copper-smelting dust (2003–2018).
Production of metallic antimony Sb 99.5 from antimonate raw materials (2012–2017).
Manufacturing of thin TiO₂ oxide films for solar cells (2021–2023).
Development of carbon-free technologies for antimony and titanium extraction (2024–2026).
Innovative technologies for lithium and vanadium extraction from Kazakhstan’s mineral raw materials (2023–2026).


Technical Equipment

Muffle furnaces, drying ovens, planetary mill, potentiostat-galvanostat, analytical instruments, photometers, and specialized installations for raw material processing.
